Seasonal Anxiety vs. Seasonal Intuition: How to Tell the Difference

Not every flutter of nervousness as the seasons change is anxiety. Sometimes, it’s intuition - your body’s way of alerting you that change is near and you’re ready to meet it. The tricky part is telling them apart.

Seasonal Anxiety might feel like:

  • Tightness in the chest or jaw.

  • Racing thoughts about the future.

  • Restlessness or irritability.

Seasonal Intuition might feel like:

  • A hum of anticipation.

  • A desire to tidy, reorganize, or create.

  • An inner nudge to shift your focus or routines.

How to discern:

  • Pause and breathe into the feeling. Does it feel expansive (intuition) or constrictive (anxiety)?

  • Journal: If this feeling could speak, what would it say?

  • Move your body and notice if the sensation changes - intuition often grows clearer with movement, while anxiety can intensify.

The more you practice listening, the easier it becomes to trust yourself.
